HER SHOES

She slid them under my bed, forever was the words she said
She held me with those eyes God! I could have died
She gave my heart a kiss, cupid couldn’t have missed
I fell so deeply in love, she fit me like a glove

hook:
Her shoes were the kind, like the joke in school
Her shoes were the kind, on a barfly stool
Her shoes were the kind, that stayed one night
Her shoes were the kind, that broke all the rules

I feared & I dread, all the things my friends said
The neighbor came from next door, out the back was the score
The mailman turned beet-red, when I caught him in my bed
I guess I should have known, her history was so long

hook:
Her shoes were the kind, like the joke in school
Her shoes were the kind, on a barfly stool
Her shoes were the kind, that stayed one night
Her shoes were the kind, that broke all the rules

I know I was a fool, beyond the exceptional rule
Cause back she was again, with a promise we would win
She amends my heart with passion, smoky steamy nights
Blinded by the light, she wooed her way in right

hook:
Her shoes were the kind, like the joke in school
Her shoes were the kind, on a barfly stool
Her shoes were the kind, that stayed one night
Her shoes were the kind, that broke all the rules
